This is the start of a job to create a new pond for conservation of Great Crested Newts. I learned today that newts travel a kilometre overland to find new ponds and they use their sense of smell to avoid ponds with resident fish (the fish kill the baby newts 😦

Clocks all Ticking
Clocks all working fine now – new hands, new varnish – and ready to be delivered. Tested them by hanging them on my workshop wall.
Tick Tock Twice
By an amazing coincidence I have 2 large clocks to repair. The first is an historic Indian Railways replica clock – it needed some dismantling, sanding down and re-varnishing. The very same week another customer brought me a clock which had fallen off the wall and broken.
Change of village
We’ve only moved 5 miles away, leaving Greens Norton for Syresham. So Mervyn is still based in South Northants.
it’s a summer of fencing

This is a site where the customer had a new home built and wanted a fence along the boundary. They arranged the tarmacing themselves.
